Example:

• Conclusion: The ground is wet.
• Fallacious reasoning: Therefore, it must have rained.

This is incorrect because the ground could also be wet due to other reasons (e.g., sprinklers, a leak). The correct logical structure requires the premise to be true for the conclusion to hold.

Another example is the false dilemma (either/or fallacy):

• "Either you support the government’s policies, or you are against democracy." This ignores the possibility of alternative viewpoints or policies.
