## **2. Active vs. Passive Voice: Who Does What?**
### **A. Active Voice** → **Subject does the action.**
*Example:* **The teacher** (subject) **teaches** (verb) **students** (object).

### **B. Passive Voice** → **Subject receives the action.**
*Example:* **Students** (subject) **are taught** (verb) **by the teacher** (optional).

### **How to Change Active to Passive?**
1. **Object → Subject**
2. **Verb → "be" + past participle (V3)**

When we **report** what someone said (not quote them), we change:
- **Tenses** (usually **backshift**)
- **Pronouns** (I → he/she)
