a) Causes of Noise Pollution
Noise pollution is a growing environmental issue that affects both humans and wildlife. The primary causes include:
- Industrial Activities: Factories, construction sites, and machinery produce loud noises that disrupt the environment.
- Transportation: Vehicles, airplanes, and trains emit high levels of noise, especially in urban areas.
- Urbanization: Rapid population growth and urban development lead to increased traffic and construction, contributing to noise levels.
- Social and Recreational Activities: Loud music at parties, firecrackers, and public gatherings often exceed safe noise limits.
- Deforestation: The loss of trees, which absorb sound, worsens noise pollution in cities and towns.
- Poor Urban Planning: Lack of green spaces and noise barriers in cities amplifies sound pollution.
Excessive noise harms health by causing stress, hearing loss, and sleep disturbances, making it essential to address its sources.
b) Letter to a Friend Describing the Last Vacation
I am writing to share my wonderful experience from my recent vacation to Pokhara. The trip was truly refreshing and filled with unforgettable moments. I spent a week there with my family, exploring the beautiful lakes, hills, and natural beauty of the region.
On the first day, we visited Phewa Lake, where we enjoyed a peaceful boat ride. The serene waters and the stunning views of the surrounding hills made it a perfect start to our vacation. The next day, we hiked up to World Peace Pagoda, which offered a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire valley. The sunrise from there was mesmerizing, and I could see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas in
We also visited the International Mountain Museum, which was both educational and fascinating. The exhibits on mountaineering and the Himalayas were incredibly informative. Additionally, we spent a day at the Davis Falls, where the cascading waterfalls added to the natural beauty of the place.
One of the highlights of our trip was the visit to the Sarangkot Hill. We woke up early to witness the sunrise over the Annapurna range, which was a magical experience. The clear skies and the golden hues of the rising sun made it one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever witnessed.
Apart from sightseeing, we also indulged in some local cuisine. The food in Pokhara is delicious, and we tried various dishes like dal bhat, momo, and thukpa. The warm hospitality of the locals made our stay even more enjoyable.
I miss Pokhara already and hope to visit again soon. I wish you could have joined us. Let’s plan our next adventure together!
